To get in the holiday spirit, we decided to pay homage to "The Nutcracker" by making Christmas ornaments with a Nutcracker flare. We followed this tutorial and made three ornaments: the Mouse King, a Nutcracker and a Sugar Plum Fairy.

To follow this tutorial, you'll need:

- White, beige, yellow, gray, pink and red felt

- Tacky glue

- Glitter glue

- Scissors

- Something to draw with (pen, pencil, chalk)

- String or hooks to hang the ornaments

For us, the easiest first step was to pick a character and then cut out all of the shapes. After our shapes were cut, we glued everything together. We finished our ornaments by adding glitter-glue features and then hung them on our tree. This do-it-yourself, Pinterest find was quick and cost effective. We spent about $5 on the felt, glitter and Tacky glue. (We had scissors, pencils and string on hand.)
