Summer’s end calls for very hot days that you can’t always spend at a pool. In a landlocked state, you would think you were nearly out of luck at cooling off and enjoying those hot days. However, Ivanhoes is the perfect place to spend on any day, no matter how far the drive may be.
Ivanhoes is a restaurant in Upland, Indiana that is famous for their large menu of sweet treats, more specifically, ice cream! They have been established since 1965.
Ivanhoes has 100 flavors of shakes and sundaes to offer its frequent customers. Many customers come from areas no more than 20-30 miles away from the establishment, but some come from much further.
Dan and Sara Harmon, a couple from Rochester, IN makes a trip to Ivanhoes once every few months if they can.
Dan says, “We’ve been coming here for well over 20 years now. We can’t get enough of it.”
I asked the couple what it is about Ivanhoes that keeps them coming back. Sarah put it simply by saying, “It tastes great!”
While the icy treats are many visitors main reason to go to Ivanhoes, some people keep coming back for the hot meals made to order.
Blaire Scott, student from Taylor University said, “It’s always busy every time I’m here, but I never mind waiting because the pulled pork is so good!”
When asked if she had a favorite sweet treat for desert, Scott said, “Just their strawberry ice cream with nothing else.”
